Once Takah were thought to be extinct. Then, in 1948, they were rediscovered. Although still very endangered, some takah survive on offshore islands like Mana Island, near Wellington. Meet the Locals is a partnership between DOC and TVNZ 6 and is distributed by Bush Telly with permission.
